Miam Miam

Miam Miam's first-ever Singapore Soufflé Pancake in conjunction with the upcoming National Day has launched!

Adapted from their best-selling Original Soufflé Pancake, the batter is similarly made from scratch and the heart-shaped pancake is prepared à la minute.

I am head over heels in love with the national flag design on the fluffy pancake. Isn't it dainty? The texture is soft and spongy, not too sweet. A treat to share with your loved ones this national day.

Before I move on to the main dishes, I have to remind you guys that this pancake is only available from 21 July to 17 August 2014, and it's free-of-charge for any diner who comes dressed in red and white and orders any main course*!

*limited to one pancake per transaction

Miam Miam is a French-Japanese fine casual café kitchen, and in case you're wondering what sort of name this is, "miam" means yum in French. Yum Yum indeed.

I shall move right on to the main courses and let you decide for yourselves if it is worth a trip down to Miam Miam for this national day treat :)

Let's start off with appetisers shall we?

French Salad: $6.50

Absolutely delish. Just the right tanginess and cheese adds to the salt factor. Not to mention the yummy slices of duck seasoned with black pepper. Mix well and there you have with you an appetite-whetting dish.

Clam Chowder: $5.80

Being a clam lover, I loved the clam chowder. There are copious amounts of clams in there! Soup was also not too thick and overwhelming.

Minestrone Soup: $5.80

Well, if you order this together with the clam chowder, remember to drink this first!

Ice Matcha Latte with Matcha Softee: $8.80

People who know me will know I don't like matcha, so the picture above is obviously posed. Hahaha. Mag really liked it though, and she's a green tea lover. You can trust her on this ^^

Matcha Hot Chocolate: $7.80

I like sweet stuff, but even I think this is too sweet and milky. Best to steer clear if you don't want a huge dose of sugar rush.

Moving on to the main dishes!

Miam Miam Spaghetti: $15.80

One of the house specials. I liked how the runny egg yolk adds flavour to the overall taste of the noodles! There are also servings of sausages and bacon for meat lovers.

Chicken Teriyaki Spaghetti: $15.80

Loveeee this! Chicken being my favourite meat and teriyaki being well, teriyaki. Very appetising main course, not to be missed! There are even strips of seaweed with a dash of sesame to enhance the flavours.

Riz Au Curry: $15.50

After mixing it looks something like a baby's food, but don't let that trick you because it is actually really yummy.

Soufflé De Nuage: $15.50

Home-style fresh tomato sautéed rice topped with fluffy clouds of egg and cheese. I'm afraid I'm not really a fan of this because somehow the egg and cheese did not really mix well in my mouth :(

Croque Madame: $8.80

What an atas name, I like.
Do you know how the menu describes this dish?

"Behind every successful man, there is Madame, and she has an egg."

Hahahaha Miam Miam, you funny. But yes, egg wins. Bingo for this Madame.

Dessert time!

Vanilla Soufflé: $9.80

I think the National Day pancake is nicer, so get your asses down to try it right now.

Famous French Toast: $9.80

Ah yes, this. A piece of heaven. Might be better if it was ice-cream instead of whipped cream though.

And that concludes my night at Miam Miam! Launch was supposed to be the pancake, but I ended up having a little feast. Thank you Liqin for hosting and for the invite :)

If you're wondering why the pictures are slightly different from my usual angles, that's because a different photographer was in charge. Thank you Jem for the photos and editing!
